The People’s Republic of Flying Dog is now in session. It’s happy hour at Flying Dog Brewery, so here is your latest dose of irreverence.Support Your Local Brewery
We here at Flying Dog love everyone drinking our award winning litter of ales but we also aren’t Beer-ophobes(TM). When 97% of beer in this country is made by 3% of the breweries and 97% of the breweries make 3% of the beer, we have to band together and rise up. The Brewers Association has launched a new website to help beer lovers do just that, SupportYourLocalBrewery.org. Become a Beer Activist by searching for information on your local brewery and state issues that impact their business. Just remember, when you’re done supporting your local brewery, drink Flying Dog.GonzoFest - Beer and Loathing in Frederick, MD
GonzoFest is Flying Dog’s annual throwdown, an event of such epic proportions that if you miss out, you’ll be in a state of self-loathing for months. This year, in conjunction with GonzoFest, we will be hosting the Hard Times Cafe Chili Cookoff (for the 2008 Maryland State Championship). Come meet the Flying Dog Crew and enjoy beer, music, tours, chili samples - as well as all-around good karma, as a portion of the proceeds benefit the Heartly House. On Saturday, September 13th from 3-9pm we will be administering lessons in Fear and Loathing, Flying Dog style. Click here for more details about GonzoFest.
Food and Beer Night - Beer and Chocolate I’m Chris Rippe and I approved this message.
For those of you who missed our last Food and Beer night at the Brewery, here is your chance to catch Session 2: Beer and Chocolate. Randy Olmstead, owner and chef at The Perfect Truffle, will be co-hosting the event as he joins the Flying Dog team for a night of beer with a perfectly matched sugar buzz. Come and be educated as we once again prove that beer is food’s favorite companion. Room for this August 7th event is limited to the first 50 guests and will fill up quickly.
