The People’s Republic of Flying Dog is now in session. It’s happy hour at Flying Dog Brewery, so here is your latest dose of irreverence. K-9 Cruiser Makes Annual Appearance
Flying Dog’s winter seasonal, K-9 Cruiser, has been released nationwide just in time for the Holidays. There is no better way to cope with your obnoxious family than K-9 Cruiser in mass quantities. Dark, sweet and malty, K-9 Cruiser goes great with with almost any holiday food. For more info on K-9, click on the bottle to the left.
Thanksgiving Beer Pairings The Brewers Association has come up with a program called Craft
Beer and Food for the Holidays. As a participant, Flying Dog has put together some beer pairings with traditional holiday foods. This Thanksgiving, put those winos in their place. For other food and beer pairings, check out www.BeerDinners.com.
Traditional Roast Turkey: The roasted and caramelized skin matches well with a golden ale like Flying Dog’s Tire Bite.
Ham: In-Heat Wheat’s taste profile often reminds people of banana and clove notes and would be a perfect pairing with ham that is prepared with fruit and seasonings.
Duck: Flying Dog’s Winter Seasonal, K-9 Cruiser, makes a perfect companion to a darker meat like duc, which offers a richer flavor than turkey.
Salmon: An amber lager like Old Scratch can offer a clean toasted malt note to offset the firm flavors of salmon without a lot of bitterness that would overwhelm the fish.
Leg of Lamb: Pale ales like Doggie-style Classic Pale Ale provide a pleasant foil to lamb with a spicy or herbal character to complement the character of the meat along with some toasted malt notes. Or for more harmony with the roasted flavors of the meat, try Road Dog Porter.
Beef Tenderloin: This rich hearty cut of meat deserves a robust beer as a counterpoint but also calls for some contrast to clear the palate between bites. The ideal companion would Double Dog Double Pale Ale.
Weekly Treat
I’m going to do my best to make this sound like a L.L. Bean catalog. Flying Dog Apparel’s weekly discount item is this stylish beanie. With ski season quickly approaching, you can make all your friends envy your superior fashion sense and thrifty shopping habits. Besides, Neal said if Brianne doesn’t sell all these by the end of November she is going to get fired. I really like staring at her across the desk so help a brotha out and buy one.
Neal Stewart = Huge Deal
Neal is the Director of Marketing for Flying Dog and the boss of yours truly. He also happens to be a huge deal in the marketing world. He is currently in Las Vegas speaking at the Word Of Mouth Marketing Association conference. This is a link to a blog that is written about Mr. Stewart from a gentleman that apparently has a huge man crush on him. Unfortunately, Neal turned down his invite to the prom.
Till next time, cheers
Chris
