The People’s Republic of Flying Dog is now in session. It’s happy hour at
Flying Dog Brewery, so here is your latest dose of irreverence.
Firearms and Beer
Click the image to the left to watch our newest video from our epic trip to Woody Creek to document the Legend of Flying Dog and drink a ton of beer while we were at it. Although I look like a jackass in this clip, it is a good testament to the lifestyle in Woody Creek which is we refer to as “Gonzo Ground Zero”. All this happened and no cops showed up, if that’s not a solid afternoon, I don’t know what is.
BBC Documentary on Hunter
In this 1978 documentary, Hunter outlines his plans for an epic funeral complete with cannon explosions and his Gonzo Fist monument. If you haven’t seen this 50 minute film, it’s definitely worth the time. If you have seen it, watch it again and get inspired to act on your Gonzo citizenship. Open Source Beer Project Complete
Our upcoming Wild Dog release, Collaborator, is the result of all those who logged onto www.opensourcebeerproject.com and gave us their input to help develop Flying Dog Brewery’s next specialty beer. We have posted the final recipe and label so all those of you out there in homebrew land can make your own versions and compare it to ours. Take a sick day and get to brewing, we’ll vouch for you.
Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail
Flying Dog Brewery in partnership with our owner, George Stranahan, will be launching a new website in a few months to honor his long time friend Hunter Thompson.
FearAndLoathingOnTheCampaignTrail2008.com will not only be a tribute to Hunter’s adept political journalism but also, a forum to bring meaningful and relevant conversations to the 2008 presidential campaign.
We are asking for the help of you, the People’s Republic of Flying Dog, to create this website. What is “The American Dream” and how do we keep it alive? If you have content you would like to contribute or have ideas on how the website should be built please email your submissions to bullshit@flyingdogales.com. I will give the best idea a signed copy of Ralph Steadman’s book “The Jokes Over“.
Till next time, cheers!
Chris
