The People’s Republic of Flying Dog is now in session.
It’s happy hour at Flying Dog Brewery, so here is your latest dose of irreverence. Last newsletter, I asked for help figuring out what to do with the Hunter Thompson mannequin that was dropped off at the Brewery. The easy answer was to blow it up and although that’s what we’re leaning toward, it has already been done. So I chose to reward creativity and detail. Answers ranged from self serving to political, and a few that made me question some people’s mental stability. If you don’t like what I chose, get your own newsletter.
The Winner:
Sneak into the cemetery, and stand it up, in a urinating posture, over Nixon’s grave.Run an arc of 16-gauge wire from Hunter’s fly to the ground, and spiral yellow e-wire around that wire. When the e-wire is hooked to a 9-volt battery, it will flash all night. I think HST would approve.
-Walt in Austin
My Personal Favorite:
Cut a hole in the mouth, put a wet sponge inside and give it to Eric Warner (Flying Dog Brewery President) so he can enjoy his first experience with oral sex in 10 years.
-James (residence not disclosed)
Ralph’s Thoughts:
That effigy of Hunter is a horrible joke! At first I thought he had been dug up and restored. But not even Flying Dog Beer could reach those parts. He looks like he was cremated but the fire was put out with Woody Creek White. Matt’s right! There are some things that were even unacceptable to Hunter.. don’t forget: GOOD PEOPLE DRINK GOOD BEER.
Our video this week features our friends next door at Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey. They’ve created their own unique take on whiskey and are calling it “Colorado Whiskey” which is a hybrid between Scotch and Bourbon distilling traditions. Stranahan’s is Colorado’s first legal whiskey distillery since prohibition and whiskey being my beverage of choice after beer I can assure you it is world class stuff. Just click on the image to the left to check out our cousin company in action.
