The People’s Republic of Flying Dog is now in session.
It’s happy hour at Flying Dog Brewery, so here is your latest dose of irreverence. We’ve got too much shit going on this week for any witty banter so I’m going to dive right into it. This week we have the launch of the Open Source Beer Project, the release of our new Summer seasonal Woody Creek White, Part 4 of our brewery tour series and last but not least, me revealing who won the signed Ralph Steadman bottles of Gonzo. Not to mention upcoming events and a new discount code.
Many of you are already familiar with our Wild Dog specialty beer series. The Open Source Beer Project gives The People’s Republic of Flying Dog the chance to help create our next Wild Dog beer recipe. The Open Source Beer Project will start as a Dopplebock but the style may evolve as participants offer ideas and tweak the recipe. “We are encouraging input on every part of the recipe, down to how and what variety of hops we should use, how much we should use and when we should add them,†said Flying Dog’s Head Brewer, Matt Brophy.
Whether you’re an experienced home brewer, beer connoisseur or just like to drink, hop onto www.opensourcebeerproject.com and give us your input.
A few months back, many of you entered a contest to name our new summer seasonal. Now that summer is here, it is time for us to release Woody Creek White and help everyone cope with the weather as it approaches triple digits. Tom Havey of Wilsonville, OR named our Belgian Style Wit beer and will enjoy a trip to the Great American Beer Festival on Flying Dog. On the right is what Ralph Steadman did with Tom’s name, click on the image for more information on Woody Creek White.
Now, on to the reason most of you have read this far, the signed Ralph Steadman bottles of Gonzo. I got over 1000 entries with some people calling me things I didn’t even know existed. Well done, members of the Republic. The funny part is the women are far more foul mouthed than the men. Congratulations to Sean Hansen from Cave Creek, AZ and Scott Gannon from we’re not sure yet. Just because you were guys were randomly selected doesn’t mean you can’t boast of your superiority. Your signed bottles are in the mail.
Part 4 of our brewery tour series has just been released by Flying Dog Productions. This is the final clip in the four part tour series, so sit back and watch them all so you can wow your friends with beer knowledge. The complete series will also soon be available on our beer tours page as a virtual tour.
We have some great events coming up so get off your butts and out of the house for some beer drinking with Flying Dog. For full details of each event just click on the name.
